Statler Business Advisory LLC ("Statler," "I," or "me") operates statlerllc.com. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what I do with it. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.
The short version
I collect what you send me through the contact form so I can reply to you. I do not sell your information, I do not share it with advertisers, and I do not publish client financial data anywhere on this website.
Information you give me
If you fill out the form on this site, I receive your name, business name, email address, phone number, the type of work you do, and whatever you write in the message field. I use it to respond to your inquiry and, if we work together, to deliver the services you hire me for. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, which hosts this site.
Information collected automatically
Netlify keeps standard server logs, including IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested. These are used for security and to keep the site running. This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies, and it does not track you across other websites.
Third parties this site relies on
- Netlify hosts the site and processes form submissions.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used here, which means Google receives a request from your browser when a page loads.
- Microsoft Power BI hosts the sample dashboard embedded on the demo page. The demo contains fabricated data only.
- Microsoft 365 handles my email and scheduling.
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data it receives.
Client financial information
This deserves its own section, because it is the part that actually matters to a client.
If you engage me for bookkeeping or advisory work, I will have access to your financial records. That information is confidential. I do not sell it, share it with third parties for marketing, or publish it. I will only disclose it where you direct me to, such as sending your file to your CPA or lender, or where I am legally required to.
Client financial data is kept in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft 365, both of which encrypt data in transit and at rest. Client dashboards are private and require a login. The sample dashboard published on this site uses invented data for a company that does not exist. No real client's numbers are ever published publicly.
How long I keep things
Inquiries that do not turn into engagements are kept for up to two years so I can pick up the thread if you come back. Client records are retained for at least seven years, consistent with standard recordkeeping and tax requirements. You can ask me to delete an inquiry at any time.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, subject to any records I am required to keep. Email matt@statlerllc.com and I will handle it myself.
Children
This site is intended for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
